Privacy policy

What this site collects, why, who can see it, and how to ask for it back. Written to meet the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. Last updated 30 September 2026.

Who is responsible

This site is run by Dwain Aiono, trading as Dwain Aiono Art, working out of Kingsfall, 79 Dalton Street, Napier. For anything about your information, email dwain.aiono@gmail.com.

What I collect

When you send a tattoo request through the booking form, I collect:

When you simply browse the site, I don't use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. The company that hosts the site records standard technical details, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, so it can deliver the site and protect it from misuse.

Why I collect it

I use your request to get back to you, talk through your idea, quote, design the piece, and book and manage your session. The placement photo is what I draw the design over, so it fits your body. I don't use your details for marketing lists, and I don't sell them.

Photos of other people

Reference images sometimes show someone else, like a portrait of a family member. Only send those if that person is comfortable with it or you're entitled to share the photo. I use them only to design your tattoo.

Who can see it

These providers hold information on my behalf, and some of them store it outside New Zealand. I won't share your information with anyone else unless the law requires it.

How long I keep it

I keep request details only as long as I need them to respond to you and look after your booking, then delete them.

Keeping it safe

The site is served over a secure connection (HTTPS), and the booking form encrypts your information when it's sent and while it's stored.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Email dwain.aiono@gmail.com and I'll respond within 20 working days, as the Privacy Act requires.

If you're not happy with how I've handled your information, tell me first so I can put it right. You can also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.

Changes

If anything here changes, I'll update this page and the date at the top.
